Abstinence-only education is dangerous and ineffective, and has no place in our health care reform legislation. But Senator Orrin Hatch's (R-Utah) abstinence-only-until-marriage amendment has been tucked in with the health care reform legislation -- and we need your help to strike it when it reaches Senate floor. 3. From what I have read there is very little difference in its effect.

Abstinence education is just a waste of money. It does little to reduce sexually transmitted diseases. Personally I think more money should be spent on developing new drugs to prevent the spread of the STDs. On the other hand, why should a drug company find a cure for STDs when they are making so much money.
