Democrats threatening to revoke insurance co antitrust exemptions, break up companies.
Chuck Schumer in the lead on this, amongst a couple others. They want to repeal the exemptions health insurance companies get from federal anti-trust laws, meaning that the government would then be able and possibly required to break up the big companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe someone just raised the DEFCON.

2. Some Dems are calling for this action.
Just because some people frame it as "a threat" does not make it so.

DAMN we've gotta start breaking up ALL monopolies! I hope they go for it! This is exactly what we need! Hey, GOP - what about Teddy Roosevelt? Wasn't he one of yours? Isn't he one of the ones you brag about - there alongside Abe Lincoln? How 'bout it, 'eh? Let's have some good old-fashioned Trust-Busting!!!

It's actually a good thing even to float this as a trial balloon. After what the insurance czars pulled - with that stick-wad of a "research study" - that was basically a full-on extortion threat - maybe we need to answer back with a threat, too. You wanna play hardball and make threats now? Okay, fine. Let's go!

12. Yes!
Forget "threatening" it. Do it!

There should be NO industry anti-trust exemptions.
