Stand Up and Take Action Against Poverty!
From Friday 16 - Sunday 18 October millions of people around the world will STAND UP and TAKE ACTION AGAINST POVERTY, calling on world leaders to commit to achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

To be part of this historical event, get your school, workplace, church or community group to organise a STAND UP event between Friday 16 – Sunday 18 October and add your voice to the growing millions who refuse to stay seated in the face of poverty. Reasons to Take Action Against Poverty

Every day over 25,000 children die of easily preventable and treatable causes. We can either stand by and watch or STAND UP, show that we care and make a difference.

Participating in STAND UP shows world leaders that you are passionate about ending extreme poverty. Last year 117 million people stood up around the world last year and world leaders took notice and took action against poverty.

Last year 207,000 Australians helped break a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest coordinated movement of people in history. In 2009, Make Poverty History are aiming to smash the record again. It’s going to be huge and you can help us.

Invite all your friends, family and colleagues to STAND UP and TAKE ACTION AGAINST POVERTY.
