Be sure to watch "V", when it starts up.. It's an homage to republican politics

The old series was very prescient, but it ran many years ago, so I'm hoping there are some people paying attention this time.

Mary Cheney and all her dangerous little buddies probably won't be watching, or if they do, will not see themselves.

It's an old allegory, but it's basic training for republicans. Put out a kind LOOKING face, an easy smile, a friendly way of speaking...an avatar-of-sorts for what "good people look like-act like", and use them as the gentling agent, so "the people" become comfortable with them. trust them, and willingly accept their ideas.

It's propaganda all the way through.

It's no accident that republicans in high places look the way they do... they are recruited FOR their "look".

Previews look silly, pretentious and predictable. I might catch the reruns if it's got good word of mouth.

6. Did you see the "Caprica" movie they're using to boot up that series?

Very different pace from "Galactica", not nearly as dark and oppressive, very character-driven. Almost a soap, but not quite.

Looks like it's going to be pretty good. We'll have to wait and see, of course, but it's a very different show in a very different environment.
