So, if it was 14-9 why was her vote even needed?
Looks like 13-10 was enough to pass the committee.
This woman is such a turncoat. She should be drummed out of the party.
Go ahead Olympia, become a democRAT....you’re a RAT already.

Rush said that he would tell us when it was time to panic.
Is he doing his show from New Zealand on Wednesday?

If Republicans fail to gain as many seats as expected next year, the elites will scream as always that it is because the party has “moved too far to the right.” BS as usual. They should blame Snowe and her cohorts. Thanks to her action it shows a lack of cohesiveness in the party. By siding with the Dems and giving this bill a look of “bipartisanship,” many conservative Republicans will stay home in 2010, and probably a good number of independents who might have voted Republican will be turned off. I hope I am wrong but I think that is a realistic scenario.

We need a mechanism to toss people out of the party.
We could have gotten rid of the pervs before the ‘06 cycle.
Could have gotten rid of the crooks in Ohio before ‘08.
Could have kicked McCain, Graham, Snowe, Collins to the curb long ago.
The flaws in the GOP primary system that gave us McCain have not been fixed. This is very bad!

This is what you get when the GOP loses 11 Senate Seats in two consecutive election cycles.
Elections Have Consequences.

Snowe claims she is not supporting the bill, but voted to continue the process. Then why did she not say so and vote against this bill?
Would Canada like Maine?

Snowe said she didn’t support the bill but voted for it to get the discussion going....how nuts.

Exactly one republican vote is all the media needs to run with “Bipartisan” and that is all you will hear. She is a vile Traitor!

“I just heard ABC radio say that this is bipartisan!”
Olympia Fig Leaf gives the Dems whatever they want if they’ll just give her her 15 minutes of fame every time one of these important votes comes up. They laugh at her behind her back, I’m sure, because she is such a pathetic patsy.

In all actuality, we should call this “The George W. Bush Healthcare Bill” on the account that if he had not helped the Democrats pick-up 11 Senate Seats in two years, this bill would have never passed.

Maybe, (big maybe) they’re pulling a little rope-a-dope on Lincoln, getting her on the record as a yes vote on this. Surely, she wanted the cover of the yea vote of Snowe, who isn’t up for reelection for years. It gives her opponents more ammunition to hammer her with. The bill would have made it out of committee anyway even without Lincoln and Snowe’s yea votes.
Probably wishful thinking again...

I found it interesting that when the GOP held their presser after the vote, the media didn’t even ask them a question like the media wasn’t at all bothered or interested to know the other side of the story.

Amen. The fight has only begun. Let Harry Reid in a back room gut the Baucus bill, add a public option, have the CBO report an astronomical score, and we’ll soon learn that the bill is DOA. Then we elect GOP governors in VA and NJ in three weeks and there won’t be a Blue Dog in the House that will vote for this crap.
This war is far from over. Keep calling your senators.

We are that. Maybe we should take a page from the left's playbook. When they lose in elections, they try to win in the courts. We are in a similar situation getting clobbered in the last two elections. I am wondering if there isn't a Constitutional issue here. I have a problem with the federal government compelling citizens to spend their privately-earned cash to purchase a particular product, insurance, in this case. And no, I don't think it falls into the same category as requiring liability in automobile insurance coverage.
WRT the vote, it was totally expected. Simple arithmetic. We don't have the votes to stop anything the 'Rats want to ram through. Beating on Olympia Snowe is an easy target, but the fact is we lost the last two elections by huge margins, and this was going to pass whether Snowe or any other 'Pub voted for it or not.
