House for sale near Phelps' church has potential

TOPEKAHOMEFINDER.COM
This two-bedroom, one-bathroom rancher at 1200 S.W. Orleans sits on a corner lot and faces west toward Westboro Baptist Church.

One of the houses next door to the Westboro Baptist Church is for sale.

Oh, the fun you could have.

The two-bedroom, one-bathroom rancher at 1200 S.W. Orleans sits on a corner lot and faces west toward the church. Let's take a look at some of the home's features and potential:

-- The tidy yard would be a great place for barbeques honoring members of the Patriot Guard, the bikers who attend military funerals to shield families of the deceased from protests staged by Fred Phelps and the gang from next door. The yard is big enough to hold dozens of Patriot Guard members -- and their Harleys, of course. Talk about a roaring good time.

-- The roofed front porch offers an ideal stage for any number of outdoor entertainment activities. Madonna Impersonation Karaoke Night, anyone?

If you're wondering, the asking price is only $79,950, well below the home's appraised value as listed in Shawnee County property records.

2. Just a Gay couple? Think bigger - Think REALLY BIG
ACT-UP planning center, PFLAG Chapter, etc....

Reason I want big is that it would be easier for a group to defend themselves than one couple...unless they have some teenage kids

4. In the early 80's, the Women's Peace Encampment in Romulus, NY was RIGHT NEXT DOOR to...
...the Seneca Army Depot, a large nuclear weapons storage facility in the middle of the Finger Lakes. They protested the base for YEARS right from their front yard. The late Dr Benjamin Spock was a frequent visitor/protester. I spent several days there myself in 1983...
