N-Word Used in Anti-Health Reform Sign
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 04:19 PM by Liberal_in_LA
"N**** Rig It." That's the sign outside the Georgia Peach Oyster Bar in Paulding County, Georgia. It's been put up by restaurant owner Patrick Lanzo to protest health insurance reform.

As CBS Atlanta reported:

When you walk into the Georgia Peach Oyster Bar in Paulding County, you feel like you've walked into a different era.

First, the restaurant has a mannequin in a Klu Klux Klan costume standing behind the pool tables, but the sign outside is the real shocker. It says: "Obama's plan for health-care: N***** rig it."

According to the Urban Dictionary, that term means either:

* To put something together in a very poor manner, or
* To temporarily "fix" something using whatever materials are at hand. Perfectly acceptable in an emergency, but not as a general rule.

Hey, it says "perfectly acceptable in an emergency," which is what our health care system is in right now, is it not?

At any rate, Patrick Lasko claims he is not a racist, but that instead, he has simply "used that term all his life." He also says the sign is about a "substandard health care plan."

Racist Old Man: 'I Am Not Racist'

Patrick Lanzo owns a restaurant in Paulding County, Georgia. His restaurant has a mannequin dressed as a Klansman. The sign out front says, "Obama's plan for health-care: nigger rig it." Lanzo says he is not a racist.

This is the victory of Political Correctness: racists across the nation have somehow vaguely internalized the lesson that racism is bad. But all that means is that they don't think anything they ever do is racist, because that would make them bad people.

CBS Atlanta's Michelle Marsh asked Lanzo why he put up the sign.

"I've been putting up signs for 22 years and I've put up all kinds of political signs," said Lanzo.

"Why did you use the N word?" Marsh asked.

"Well, I've used it most of my life. There are different ways to put your opinion up, but that's just the words I choose," Lanzo answered.

That's just the word he chose. "Nigger." He has used the word "nigger" all his life. You know, whatever. It's just his opinion. Once again: he is not a racist.

3. Most racist 's say they are not...but I would think if he was not he would
try and not use the word...so because he used the word all is life it is o.k.? Knowing black people don't like being called the N word should be a good reason not to use it..

6. That's it. The word will hit the mainstream soon.
It always starts with some kook. Then months later the media picks it up as though it's normal.

9. I wonder if he's ever used that word to an African American's face?

If he wasn't in the company of ten other peckerwoods, that is.

11. That's a pretty common expression
in the south. In order to poke fun at political correctness, a lot of people now say 'afro-engineeered.' Either way, they're trying to say that anything done by black folks is sub-par and inherently inferior.

12. Even With A Black President
America does not believe in equality. A white owned business can put up a sign like that and not fear reprisal from the minority group. You can bet that a black owned business with a sign about honkies or crackers (whatever, the in phrase is at this point in time) would be burned to the ground and the owners would probably be lynched in Georgia.
