Now if we can do this with cars. Homegrown competing against Mexican Cartels.

1. Clearly, we need marijuana tariffs to level the playing field

It shouldn't be up to the consumer to make these type of economic decisions, and vote against their wallet. This situation is in need of government intervention.

5. We probably do, but only politicians and "law enforcement" are the only
ones seeing the proceeds.

3. America has the best weed in the world.
We should be proud of our products. Celebrate them.

6. If the weed is good in the US, thank the Ag department at your local universities.

7. Actually I thank the amateur breeders all over the world..

Who risk everything to advance the quality of the cannabis plant.

Dig deeper and it'll become apparent that professional research is way behind the thousands of years of selective breeding done by passionate growers who actually love what they do. That's not to say that there isn't any research yet to be done, but currently it's difficult because Cannabis is Schedule I and is therefore unfunded.

8. The students at those Ag departments took what they learned to better the
quality of the weed. It was a poorly kept secret that students at our local college became alternative farmers.

Never thought I'd use a Scott Baio reference, but there it is. :)

11. You really have to thank Jorge Cervantes
and all the home growers. Ag departments have nothing to do with it.

biology.

Canada's BC bud kicks the crap out of ours and it's almost half the price. I won't even go into the quality of shit you can get in Amsterdam.

19. I've been to Amsterdam, their pot is good, but nothing special IMO
Not any more at least.

American medical strains have surpassed anything from BC and Amsterdam during the past 10 years, although I agree that the Canadians still grow great pot. It's just not worth the import effort any more. Europe seems to be all about the Cheese these days, it's very strong and skunky, but the CBD's seem to have been bred out of it in favor of THC. A shame really. I'm not a "get real fucked up" type of smoker.

I've never tried Middle-Eastern hash so I'll defer to someone who has. American made bubble hash is spectacular, but I'd like to try the original some day.

10. Dude, we've known this in California since right around 1975.
Not one dime of my money has ever gone to a criminal cartel, except for the portion of my taxes that funds the DOD, the DEA and the CIA. Can't do much about that.

You can't find anyone in California that knows anything taking the idea of Mexican growers seriously, except maybe the police who get money for lying about the problem.

I changed the body of my post to clarify the DIY aspect that I would like to see. But my point is the same: drug-dealers need to be downsized.

edit: I think a small plot that you could rotate year round would be sensible. Make cultivation and use legal, heavily regulate sale and trafficking.
