Conservative group aims to delete ‘liberal bias’ from Bible

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

That famous line, attributed to Jesus in Luke 23:34, could well apply to the folks at Conservapedia -- the "conservative version" of Wikipedia -- who have embarked on a project to rewrite the Bible.

In an effort to rid the Good Book of "liberal bias," the group has set up the Conservative Bible Project, which aims to rewrite the Bible from a modern, conservative perspective.

"Liberal bias has become the single biggest distortion in modern Bible translations," the project's Web site asserts.

1. Are some of the faithful reading the Bible and asking questions?
Oh-Uh...that entire New Testament thing is going to be a problem.

7. and they will have to introduce some dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden and
have Jesus welcome those money-changers into Herod's temple and make a decent profit on that bread and fish feast.

Yep - it will be quite a task to intoduce today's conservative values into these stories.

3. How are they going to spin Matthew 25?
Specifically, the part that says you'll go to Hell if you don't help the poor and the sick.

Good luck with that one, assholes.

8. And don't forget Matthew 23.
Something about TPTB of Jesus' time being in big trouble with with the real Power That Be -- for the sin of hypocracy. :)

6. They are going to edit the Bible, yet...
they are stupid enough to claim that the Bible is the unaltered word of God and has never been edited or altered since the beginning of time. Are they really stupid enough to think they are the first people to every re-write portions of the Bible? Bible re-writing has been going on for 20 centuries.

9. What better proof could there POSSIBLY be that they don't really think it's "God's Word"?
The 'faithful' are nothing of the sort.

Call out these fuckers.

Show them and their religion no respect at all.

The closest thing in the Bible to these assholes is a fallen angel called Satan.

on edit: the divine censors (not in the Puritan or Comstock sense, but in a literal turn of phrase) had better stay indoors when it's cloudy outside :nuke:

13. These are the people against whom a war should be fought.
These 'people' are the real threat to all of us.

They will lie about their own holy book to get their way.

They will stop at nothing.

They are the enemy.

14. good way to frame this ...
"So ... you're saying that, all these years, ... the Bible has been wrong?"

As I think about it ... that will negate a whole helluva lot of stuff the RWers have been saying for a LONNNNG TIME ... they're saying that the Bible has been wrong ...

Well, what exactly has it been wrong about? It survived this long, until you guys decided that it suddenly didn't apply ...

rewriting history ... in this case ... LITERALLY ...
