Boo-effing-hoo! Betsy McCaughey :"one of the most browbeating interviews in television history."
Betsy McCaughey is a famous liar whom the media keep inviting on their programs to continue to lie about health care, instead of banishing her to some wilderness, where she belongs, to lie to woodland creatures. And so, today she ended up on Dylan Ratigan's Morning Meeting with Representative Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.). There was a brief, mad moment where I thought that this might end well, but it didn't.
<snip>
And so, McCaughey just unleashed her SENIOR CITIZEN HEALTH CARE APOCALYPSE nonsense, accusing Weiner of being ignorant and telling Ratigan that he wasn't a "fair moderator," to which Ratigan replied, "Well, you're not a fair answerer." Ratigan gamely attempted to get McCaughey to reconcile how she'd continue to provide the current level of unsustainable funding to Medicare without updating the system to address its inefficiencies, to no avail.

McCAUGHEY: This will go down in history as one of the most browbeating interviews in television history.

RATIGAN: I hope that it does, and maybe you'll learn to go on television to answer questions as opposed to casting accusations.

I doubt that very much!

Hell, this was practically John McCain's entire domestic agenda last year.

2. She's lucky it was only a rhetorical brow beating
She's responsible for a lot of suffering in this country - she's very lucky to be allowed to speak at all.

6. I thought Ratigan did a great job in pulling her up short and stopping
her lies on the spot, with Weiner providing back-up. And he did let her have a bit of her say about Medicare, but then turned it right around on her and showed how what she was proposing was actually all about raising the age for Medicare eligibility and the eventual end of Medicare. She came off looking horrible at the end of it. And very whiny.

11. Typical Republican tactic, constantly interrupting
She gave her opening statement and Weiner let her talk. Then, when Weiner started speaking, she jumped in with an interruption, and she kept that up throughout the interview. And then she said plaintively (and falsely), "I haven't finished one sentence."

I'd say that the time during which only one person was speaking was less than half the total time of the clip.

If I ran a talk show, I'd seriously consider having interviewees in separate soundproof booths, with the moderator having control of their microphones so that guests couldn't interrupt or filibuster.
