so apparently i should NOT have gone to the hospital for a colonoscopy, but i SHOULD have been rendered unconscious. i guess the insurance company is jealous, they want to make sure they're the only ones screwing me up the ass....

6. I go for mine this or next month (going to schedule it next week);
have to get mine done in the hospital under "deep sedation" because I woke up during the last one (that was done at the endoscopy center). I feel for you, Laf.La.Dem. I hate drinking that nasty crap (no pun intended), too.

2. Anytime you undergo general anesthesia
you should do it in a hospital. There are just too many things that can go wrong. I'm not a doctor, but that's my opinion.

4. Short term anesthesia can be done in a doctor's office
Conscious sedation can also be done in a doctor's office. I've had both for dental work. The monitoring equipment was there and the staff was competent. Long term anesthesia requiring muscle relaxants and intubation has to be done in the hospital, no question.

5. mine was technically not "in" a hospital but you wouldn't know it.
go in a separate entrance and it's this private physician's office center but it's all connected.
