13. Horrific
A VA Tech student called in to MSNBC - he was in the classroom where the shootings occured. Said that he heard shots, then the gunman came into the classroom and began shooting people. Finally, he left, and the student got up from the floor to lock and block the door. But then the gunman came back & tried to get back into the classroom - slamming & then shooting at the door. Finally, the gunman gave up & went down the hall to another classroom - and the student could hear more shots. God, it's so horrific. I can't even imagine what those students went through.

14. No - not that I heard.
I'm just feeling a huge sense of deja-vu.

Eight years ago, I was off work, feeling pretty lousy because I was in my third trimester with my son and watch the Columbine shooting incidents all day.

Today, I come home from work early because I'm feeling prety lousy as I'm in my third trimester with my daughter and this.

What is the deal about the Aprils that I am pregnant?

9. E. Harris and D Klebold are pickers compared to this guy
Columbine killed 13

These guys are up to 31 already Disgusting and once again shame on America for allowing the nutty fringe of the NRA for facilitating the environment that allows these types of tragidies to occur. Many broken hearts acroos th land tonight but I can assure that the NRA is already gearing up to defend themselves and in fact use this to promote more guns..You can be sure thwy will be using the .."Well is just one of those students had been allowed to carry a gun the death rate could have been much lower we don't need gun control we ned less gun control and more hidden gun permits for students." Sad very sad!

10. Nutty Fringe??
I live "CLOSE" to VT...I have SEVERAL family members their...

Name ONE law that would have stopped it?

It is already a CRIME to have a gun on the property... in effect it is a "Victim disarmament zone"

It is not the gun, it is the asshole behind it...

PURE AND SIMPLE.....

12. We have a culture of violence
Our schizophrenic gun laws -- permissive and restrictive at the same time -- are a small reflection of that.

All our favorite political stances have failed us.

I have no answers.

16. I hear that
Our schizophrenic gun laws -- permissive and restrictive at the same time -- are a small reflection of that.

All our favorite political stances have failed us.

And many in our parties leadership, will try to force MORE of what is proven not to work down our gullet. Costing us millions of votes in the process

15. See my post above.
I was at home from work in my third trimester of pregnancy for both that (with my son) and this (with the daughter I'm currently pregnant with).

Such an odd set of coincidences for me - brings back some very vivid memories of Columbine and that time in my life - even though I don't have a real connection to either event.
