Cheney incorrect on troop funding priority

WASHINGTON, April 16, 2007 (UPI) -- If Congress and the White House can't agree on the $100 billion war funding bill, the military can shift non-war funding for a period to cover combat needs.

But not according to Vice President Dick Cheney.

Cheney told a Chicago radio show Friday the exact opposite: The frontline troops will be affected most, and first.

"I think the forces that will be most directly affected by it, of course, will be our people on the ground inside Iraq," Cheney told the Don and Roma Wade program on WLS 890-AM radio station.

...

A Pentagon official who asked not to be identified because he did not want to be on the record correcting the vice president, said Cheney lacks a grasp on the details of Pentagon budgeting.

1. He tried that shit on Face The Nation, too.
He told Scheiffer on Sunday that if the democrats don't get the money flowing to Iraq in two weeks, the soldiers will start feeling the cutbacks.

I don't think it's a lack of understanding of Pentagon budgeting. I think he is just a nasty, evil, bald faced lying son of a bitch who will say and do anything necessary to further line his blood-soaked pockets.

3. I saw that... it's not that BushCo won't make the right decision
To bring those troops home, it's that the Democratic Congress is holding a gun to BushCo's head and making them leave the troops there without funding.

2. He was only the Secretary of Defense
What the hell does he know about Pentagon budgeting? :sarcasm: He knows all about it. He just doesn't want The People to know the truth.
