The REAL Reason We Can't Help Thinking About IMUS
In the back of our minds, we're thinking: "Gee, I hope he remembered to save for retirement".

And the whole incident SCARES US and makes us wonder: If **we** lost our jobs tomorrow, how long would WE be able to survive?

1. I'm sure Imus is all set...
He's a multimillionaire; unlike those of us who are fired with a day's notice.

4. And it's not like a satellite radio gig isn't in the cards for him, which'll rake in millions more.

Though, the OP does make an interesting point/observation.

2. Gee, I gotta say, I never thought that about him. He's quite wealthy.
He could support a dozen families for life on the proceeds of the sale of just one of his many homes.

What the whole thing makes me think about is double standards. Bigotry by pro-war radio and TV personalities is OK (Beck, Limbaugh, Howie Carr, e.g.) but bigotry by anti-war personalities (from the right, we have Republican Imus and his 'nappiness,' and from the left, Rosie O'Donnell and and her Ching Chong remark) is greeted by immediate calls for their heads.

That's the bit I find interesting, that curious double-standard.

You'd think someone would have spent even two minutes covering this blatantly racist atrocity on TV, but it came and went just last month without a PEEP:

Warning--offensive audio clip. http://colorado.mediamatters.org/items/200703230002

5.how corporations folded under pressure
6.how hypocritical it is to take on one shock jock when gangsta rap gets a free pass.

5. Not since Gary Condit have I been so sick of a story!
I'm really ready to move on to this weeks AttorneyGate hearings. I can't express how disappointed I was to still have this story filling my radio this morning.
