Why Are There No Aerial Photographs Of The 9/12 Tea Party?
Aerial photographs of the events in DC are obtained via two methods.

1) Some news agency hires a helicopter to fly over and take pictures.

2) Some sponsor of the event hires a helicopter to fly over and take pictures.

All accounts of the event on 9/12 claim a civilian helicopter was in the air.

Add to that the fact that both methods are accounted for in the single entity of Fox News.

So there's your answer. Fox News in no way shape or form wanted to show the pitiful turnouot to the event they basically sponsored.

1. Yes! You'd think we would be seeing such photos EVERYWHERE to proove their claims.
The smallest anti-War rally I went to after March 20, 2003 was probably about 10K; the biggest, in fall of 2002, was probably something like 2-300K. There definitely were helicopters in attendance at that one, but NOT A PEEP in the "news".

6. After the Sept. 2005 peace march in D.C., I looked on the Internet for areal photos.
Edited on Tue Sep-22-09 09:06 AM by John1956PA
I attended the Sept. 2005, peace march, and I wanted to see areal photos to back up my belief that there were more than 150,000 who marched. I could not find any such photos, and I assumed that the absence of same was due to two reasons: (i) national security protocols prevent the taking and dissemination of D.C. areal photos, and (ii) the administration desired to conceal any such photos which would prove great number of peace marchers.

Also, I am surprised to read here that there was a civilian helicopter flying over D.C. during the Tea party. I thought that all civilian flights over D.C. were banned after Sept 11, 2001.

9. Trans-natl-Corps aren't civilians of any nation-state, so their helicopters were allowed. nt

2. Was there another event that day as well?
I heard that there was another event on the mall that day - not sure as to how accurate this report was.

7. Like most RW "Grassroots" - Wide and loud, but shallow.
Big empty gaps areas that other protests filled. 70,000 was generous.

10. how many?
I have attended most Penn State home games since 1971. The stadium holds over 100,000 today. The crowd in this photo is certainly no larger.

12. Best estimate was about 60,000 -- not very impressive
considering Fox promoted the hell out of it. We've gotten hundreds of thousands of people to liberal marches and protests with a fraction of the pre-protest publicity. Of course, the media did their best to ignore the hell out of them, or to focus in on maybe one or two extreme protesters (some "out there" anarchist or something).

25. LOL. Close angle showing the crowd is all at the Capitol, and the Mall itself mostly empty.
Obama inauguration had close to 2 million and filled the whole space from Capitol to Washington Monument (I know because I was stuck out at the Washington Monument LOL), this is nowhere close.

17. Because the USPS lied and everyone at the march and everyone living in DC knew it.
Now that the M$M is totally on board with the corporations who own this country, they just don't bother to report on the marches that don't benefit their bottom line directly.

Note the several 100K+ anti-war marches from San Francisco to DC between 2002 and 2005 that got zero coverage on any network news.

You say a half million they say a hundred thousand. You bitch, they defend. I'm surprised they didn't stop doing it years ago.
