I was against Bush from day one, although I did admit that having ZZ Top play for the inauguration seemed like a big improvement over Fleetwood Mac. When he went on vacation in August 2001, I said at work something like "well, since everything he does is evil, the more time he takes off, the better. Take the next three years off George." One of my Republican co-workers was kinda shocked by that, although she laughed a little too.

I believed what I said though. When Bush accidentally said "Our enemies are determined and so are we. They never stop thinking of ways to harm us, and neither do we." That seemed like a true statement to me, as Bush always seemed determined to hurt working people and poor people and to enrich his corporate friends and his base - the haves and the have mores.

So I don't think it is necessarily bad to complain even before a disaster strikes. They DO already have the largest deficit in history (although much of that is left over from Bush).
