Comparison DC Mall Pictures - Teabagger Protest VS Obama's Inauguration
I thought this might help put things in perspective a bit. ;)

I also found this if you'd like a better shot of the Mall at Obama's Inauguration:

Tea Party Protesters March on Washington

Thousands March to U.S. Capitol to Protest Government Spending, Health Care; Many Chanted 'You Lie'
By RUSSELL GOLDMAN
Sept.12, 2009

Thousands of conservative protesters from across the country converged on the Capitol Saturday morning to demonstrate against President Obama's proposals for health care reform and voicing opposition to big government, what they say is over-the-top spending.

Carrying signs depicting President Obama as Adolf Hitler and the Joker, and chanting slogans such as "'No big government" and "Obamacare makes me sick," approximately 60,000 to 70,000 people flooded Pennsylvania Ave, according to the Washington DC Fire Department.

9. The latest is that the teabaggers are so ashamed of their turnout that
they're posting photos from other rallies and claiming it was today. One was from the Promisekeepers rally in '97, complete sunshine (it was cloudy there today) and buildings missing (Native American Museum).

They are so desperate.

the fascistic fringe is more organized and united than the left/progressives, and that is NOT a good thing.

In that 0 < 20,000 < 2,000,000

I also have up to $2,000,000 in my checking account. I have up to 2,000,000 cats. My TV set is up to 2,000,000 inches on the diagonal. And I'm packing up to 2,000,000 inches in my pants.

nonsense out there.

FWIW I looked for pics from the major anti-war/anti-Bush rallies but couldn't find any that had a similar perspective. If you happen to have or can find a couple decent shots I'd appreciate it if you'd share them with me. I could swear I remember seeing one out there when they occurred but can't find a usable one now. :)

I'll do up a pic like this one for that as well. :) I'm very sure that our major protests in DC were quite a bit bigger then this party of nope and dope bigot brigade.

I just did this up because I became so annoyed hearing "1 million" "2 million" when I was watching videos and reports that in reality didn't show anywhere near that.

Edited on Sun Sep-13-09 03:47 PM by intheflow
The Kaiser Foundation (of all organizations!) put the estimate between 500,000 and 800,000, depending on the news source: http://www.kaisernetwork.org/daily_reports/rep_index.cfm?DR_ID=23390

Here's the Washington Post's article, estimating the crowds in the "hundreds of thousands": http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&contentId=A41997-2004Apr25¬Found=true

Not a bad turnout for a broken movement, but not nearly the two million or so who were on or near the Mall for the 01/20/09 Inauguration.
