There's a 9/12 protest on my corner. Morons.

There appears to be a "9/12" protest going on just around the corner from my apartment. (No photos because I'm not giving them free publicity.)

Some 40 people divided across both sides of the road holding big banners that say, "Don't Mess with Texas!" and "Illegal immigration is a crime!" (or something to that effect.)

And just where are they protesting? A couple of blocks off one of the busiest streets in town, well out of sight of the main road, in front of the Marriott hotel, where I suspect they are claiming "illegal aliens" are being employed.

Police cars are present, parked with lights flashing, presumably to ensure the protest stays peaceful. And if not for that, I never would have noticed them.

These yahoos were out there before 9am on a cloudy Saturday morning, probably upset over a dozen low-wage, no-benefit grunt jobs going to "illegal aliens" scrubbing toilets in the hotel. (I didn't bother to stop and ask, but unless they are protesting visitors from Mexico staying in the hotel, I have no idea why they'd choose that obscure location.)

I'm debating going over there to find out just what has them so upset (like it matters).
