Rove, Missing E-Mails and Plame......
:tinfoilhat: alert (maybe..?)

FLASHBACK:
During the Grand Jury sessions with Fitzpatrick, regarding the outing of Valerie Plame, Rove was under some heavy grilling. Rumors were flying that it looked like Rove be indicted for his involvement, or at the least on charges of obstruction and perjury.

As it came down to the wire - Rove "suddenly" produced an E-MAIL which amazingly saved his butt from being indicted.

FAST FORWARD to Recent events:
Revelations are abounding about White House and RNC E-mails in connection with Attorney-Gate. House and Senate committees want to take a look at those E-mails.

But, OH MY - the e-mails have been deleted. We are also learning that Rove is very fond of the 'delete' button.

here's where the :tinfoilhat: is placed upon my head:

-- Rove produced an e-mail (seemingly out of the blue) which got him off the hook for Plame, but now the Loyal Bushies can't find e-mails

something is smelly with Turd-Blossom et al.

* Rove likes using the delete button, but he didn't delete the e-mail which saved his butt regarding Plame? is he psychic enough to know that he would/might need that particular e-mail to save his butt at some point in the future? or was this particular e-mail created to save his butt?

* Why could Rove produce THE ONE e-mail that saved his butt, but the White House/RNC can't find the e-mails related to the current investigations?

1. CREW asks Patrick Fitzgerald to re-open investigation of Rove's role in Plame leak
I had been away at conference all day yesterday:
But a friend sent me this (I do not know the source.

Given all the missing e-mails, CREW asks Patrick Fitzgerald to re-open investigation of Rove's role in Plame leak
Submitted by crew on 13 April 2007 - 4:01pm. Karl Rove Presidential Records Act Valerie Plame

CREW asked Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald to re-open his investigation of Karl Rove's role in disclosing Valerie Plame Wilson's status as a covert CIA operative in light of recent revelations about missing White House email. Our letter to Mr. Fitzgerald can be found here.

We base this request on three key factors: 1) revelations that Karl Rove uses a Republican National Committee (RNC) email account for 95 percent of his communications; 2) the admission from the RNC's counsel that all of Mr. Rove's emails prior to 2005 have been destroyed; and 3) the acknowledgment today from White House spokesperson Dana Perino that – as CREW reported yesterday – five million emails are missing from the White House servers.

All of this raises serious questions about whether Mr. Rove knowingly destroyed evidence relevant to the Special Counsel's inquiry and whether Mr. Fitzgerald received all relevant documents.

Melanie Sloan stated our position quite clearly:

It looks like Karl Rove may well have destroyed evidence that implicated him in the White House's orchestrated efforts to leak Valerie Plame Wilson's covert identity to the press in retaliation against her husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson. Special Counsel Fitzgerald should immediately reopen his investigation into whether Rove took part in the leak as well as whether he obstructed justice in the ensuing leak investigation.

CREW serves as legal counsel to the Wilsons in their civil suit against Karl Rove, Vice President Dick Cheney, I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, and Richard Armitage.

5. Fitz's mandate was the Plame affair, nothing else.
Fitz left clues that there was more than just the Plame thing.

7. Fitz knew or suspected most of it. But couldn't go after it all. But he made sure
that someone else would.

8. Here's the e-mail Rove found that got him off the hook: 7/11/03 to Hadley
Edited on Sun Apr-15-07 07:43 AM by leveymg
Almost exactly a year ago, it looked lIke Rove was about to be indicted by Fitzgerald after the U.S. Attorney discovered the existence of an email Rove had sent to then-Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley after he spoke with Cooper on July 11, 2003.

Rove did not disclose the existence of the email during his first two appearances before the grand jury. Rove had falsely testified that he first heard about Valerie Plame after her identity was disclosed in several news stories.

"I didn't take the bait," Rove wrote in the email to Hadley immediately following he got off the phone with Cooper. "Matt Cooper called to give me a heads-up that he's got a welfare reform story coming. When he finished his brief heads-up he immediately launched into Niger. Isn't this damaging? Hasn't the president been hurt? I didn't take the bait, but I said if I were him I wouldn't get Time far out in front on this." See, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove#Rove.27s_email_to_Hadley

How did Fitzgerald learn about that e-mail, and how did Rove retrieve it? Hadley, who was also interviewed by the Plame Grand Jury, might have revealed it and, possibly, produced a copy. Or, else, some other source led Fitz to learn about the message, and Rove may have been forced to belatedly produce a copy from his own records. Finally, perhaps it was "recalled" by Rove after two prior Grand Jury sessions, and was also "overlooked" by the prosecution staff and, aided by Rove, they went back into the e-mails and were finally able to locate it. This latter story, I recall, spread by the MSM, is most unbelievable.

6. I have said all along: that email was a fake. Rove manufactured his own alibi.
No one believed me at the time.
Now maybe someone will ask the some questions.

10. Is it possible that ROVE, in order to recover that email that got him off the hook,
had to go to the techies of the RNC server to recover at which point they started, as just testified, treating HIS emails differently. Once they knew he was purposefully deleting info in violation of Fitz's orders, perhaps they set up new ways of treating HIS emails as the ultimate CYA.

Seemed Fitz was leading Congress to what info/emails they could ask for. Imagine what the header on this mysteriously appearing email told them.

What do you think?
