Can't hurt to mention it..., and beats talking about that guy I never listened to anyway.

1. Forget it. No matter how much people say they want to raise the level of discourse, they don't.
They want fighting and meanness.

That fucker Jay Severin, who toes the BushCo line (unlike Imus) has a better shot at the gig than Seder.

4. Oh, if they hired him, I'd probably keel over from shock...
...but in this little space between, it's worth a little "what if?".

2. It could be Sam. But with CBS' track record lately, it might as well be
John Bolton.

Or Tom DeLay.

Conrad Burns.

Rick Santorum.

9. Sam and Randi are the best.
I am wondering why there has always been an attempt to get rid of Sam Seder? We mobilized once before to keep him. He is one of their best and they don't even know it.

LIONEL????

10. Dollars In Dollars Out...
I wish Sam well and think a weekly feature may be a very good thing for him...he'll be able to focus on this show and use it to launch a future venture. I saw him grow professionally over his time at AAR and that we will be hearing from him again in the future. The AAR decision is one that was expected as the new owners need to find ways to make the network financially viable. This is the Green's gamble and at least I give them credit for attempting to keep the network going. The network came thisclose to completely going out of business last Fall.

The person who replaces Imus will have to be a "proven" performer. I've heard Imus made CBS and its stations upwards of $20 mil a year in a medium where every penny is precious. Look at how tough a time CBS has had in trying to replace Stern. Imus was unique as he truly did trascend both radio and TV...finding someone of that stature will be hard to come up with. Instead, I figure CBS will go "cheap"...coming up with some low budget, non controversial show with a "name"...preferably some entertainer and try to keep something rolling and hoping something clicks.

Personally...I'd love to see MSNBC hire Dan Patrick and have him and Keith do an hour or so every morning. They could still cover all the sports and politics Imus ever did and do it in a far classier way.

12. I still can't believe they did this
What the hell is wrong with Air America? I can't help but think that they moved him to a single night because he was too honest and sarcastic. First they get rid of Mike Malloy, then Sam Seder, who's next? Randi? Sam was one of my favorite radio personalities. He never failed to inform and entertain. His impressions of certain Republican blowhards really cracked me up. I'm going to miss him A LOT.

And who the heck is this Lionel guy? I can say for a fact that I'm not going to listen to him. It was always hard to choose between Stephanie and Sam in the morning, so I guess I'll have an easier choice now.
