4. He's not the only one who's saying that -- and I hope they're ALL wrong, but
with this Trigger thing getting attention, it makes me nervous.

WHO presented the Trigger anyway, do you know? Is it something someone credible on our side has said is viable?

:hi:

and I was horrified.

And I'm surprised there ISN'T a Trigger Palin!

31. The 'Trigger' option
allows your insurance company to send you to a large animal vet for a second opinion. Following which, they can shoot you if you're deemed ulikely to recover.

Dick and David -- not even close. We do have to consider the source, though.

I'm climbing the walls waiting for it. I really liked Hekate's post because it really captured how I feel-dread...angst...hell, even desperation.

And KO, God love him, likes the drama as much as Matthews or anyone else.

It's the MSM...

I don't buy the "good soldier" unsubstantiated story.

It's frightening how they make shit up as they go along.

An unidentified source yada yada and it gets out there and seriously scares us.

I wonder how many similar rumors go unreported because they're positive and don't fit the criteria for what's "news worthy".

Have a good weekend. :P

22. The Velveteen Ocelot just said Clarence Paige doesn't think it's dead, and Markos Moulitsas
gave kind of an optimistic report, too --

I don't think KO was reporting this as a done deal, but rather showed the negative statements (which is what got me all frazzled) and then had various guests on to give their response.

Bottom line is I think we just don't know, and won't know for sure until we hear Obama himself speak (if people will allow their families to watch :eyes:)

18. I can't definitively say -- just caught the clip, but from what he said,
and Keith's opening remarks, and something somebody else said (it's all running together in my tiny little brain), I interpreted it as being directed toward those who are standing pat on a public option.

15. David Gregory said this morning on the Today show that the President
wants Congress to pass and concentrate on important parts of the bill that don't include the public option (such as not letting insurance companies discriminate against those that have pre-existing conditions) but he was not going to drop the public option. Who the hell knows what that means but it is Lurch (as I call him) we are talking about.
Maybe he meant Obama wants to concentrate on other parts of the bill and to highlight these things to the American people which are less controversial then the p.o. but also will not throw the p.o. under the bus.

By the way...nice to see you around here again gateley. :hi:

32. Here's what it means.
There will be two bills. The first will focus on reform of health insurance cos.; such as dropping pre-existing exclusions and cost controls. Some pukes will vote for it; 60 votes to pass.

The second will be the public option and can be passed with 51 votes using reconcilation.

It's important to note that a huge bill covering everything couldn't be passed with reconciliation, so it makes sense to break it up to get the public option through.

nice holiday weekend.

Keith has lost quite a bit of credibility with me with his hysteria. Facts and perspective don't seem to be high on his priority list. Something to piss people off and get people all emotional - that seems to be his MO lately. I'll wait and see.

29. No, Keith was NOT being hysterical.
I'll bet you didn't even watch the show. He presented a variety of opinions on what was going to happen.

If anything, Keith tends to be nervous about the right thing being done. That's not something to condemn him for, it's natural considering all the crap that's gone on. But he's not trying to rile people up for riling's sake. When he's worried, he expresses worry. Don't like it? Too bad.

34. It seems to me that GE-NBC is attempting to build
credibility for Turdblossom's bosom buddy; he appeared on another show yesterday or the day before supposedly giving insider info on something. Does anyone know what MTP's ratings are? At the very least NBC and TB's BB probably know that we progressives despise him and frequently rip into him online and, sometimes, in emails to the network.

Personally, I'm not giving any of the rumors and supposed compromises any credence until I hear them coming from President Obama's mouth. Because I've seen how the media, including progressives like KO and ES, have been manipulating HCR politics and parsing, even after President Obama spoke strongly for the pub op at the town hall a few weeks ago.

I've also seen all of the Obama second-guessing by progressives before - during the campaign. It's become a sport.
