Man Get Suspended Sentence for Threat to President

STONEVILLE, North Carolina - A man has pleaded guilty to calling emergency police dispatchers to say he was going to assassinate President Barack Obama.

The Rockingham County sheriff's office says Steve Lee Stone pleaded to charges Wednesday of communicating threats, resisting a public officer and misusing the dispatch system. He was sentenced to two 45-day jail terms, which were suspended, and 18 months probation.

Police say the 44-year-old man called a dispatcher twice from his trailer about five miles south of the Virginia border in late July and said he was going to assassinate the president. He did not identify himself.

Sheriff's deputies and a Secret Service agent investigated the caller's identity. Stone was interviewed by deputies at his trailer in Stoneville.

Deputies say Stone became combative during the interview and they were forced to use a stun gun and arrest him.

Suspended sentence. No jail time.

What was the sentence the Bush protestor got for wearing a T-shirt?

the President of the United States of America??!?!?

He's a terrorist. He admitted exactly what his intentions are. WTF?
Are they going to wait until he does it to arrest his ass and keep him
behind bars???

WTF?? I thought we were living in a "post 9/11 world".

Why do repukes keep moving the goal posts and we keep going along with it??!

3. There were multiple t-shirt incidents but I can't find one where a person was sentenced for it.

There were trespassing charges that were thrown out by a judge: http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/news.aspx?id=14041

And another was charged with assault on a police officer and the defendant showed up to court in an anti-Bush t-shirt. The judge told her to change, but she didn't, and he didn't pursue the shirt issue any further: http://www.newsnet5.com/news/9312729/detail.html

The example you give, of the direct threat, is of course far worse than any t-shirt. The person should be in jail.
