Karzai Short of Afghan Election Win(With 60% Tallied, 47.3%)
Source: National Post

KABUL -- Incumbent Hamid Karzai extended his lead in partial results released on Wednesday from Afghanistan’s Aug. 20 presidential election, but was still just short of the 50% he would need to avoid a run-off.

With more than 60% of votes tallied, Mr. Karzai held 47.3% of the vote to 32.6% for his main rival, former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah, according to results released by the Independent Election Commission.

The delayed release of results has led to a drip, drip, drip of Karzai's numbers. At 10% they were nearly tied. Now, he is just 2.8% from taking it in the first round. He is stealing it, and our troops will be forced to support him.

4. Yes. Maybe not by a lot.
Karzai has rigged this win by corruption and making deals with the very people Americans fighting and dying against. He has sold out his country to extremists. The alternatives may be similar in their policies, but they are not corrupted or making deals with the wrong people to maintain power.

5. Thanks. I knew Karzai was scum, but have no knowledge of his opponents.
