Bomb Kills US Service Member in Afghanistan

KABUL — NATO says a U.S. service member has died in Afghanistan from wounds suffered in an explosion.

The service member died Tuesday after a bomb attack in southern Afghanistan on Monday. No other information has been released.

The death, the first for the U.S. in September, comes after the close of the deadliest month of the eight-year Afghan war for American troops. Forty-nine U.S. troops died in Afghanistan in August, according to a count by The Associated Press.

3. Obama's Vietnam

President LBJ helped this country by pushing wonderful legislation (such as Medicare). He was progressive, and the country loved him for it. Later, his popularity tanked and he lost the support of his party because of his undeclared war in Vietnam. The image of brave military men returning home in coffins is the kiss of death to a political leader.

Unfortunately, Obama is sprinting strait toward the same trap. I hope he figures it out before it costs him his re-election.

Money has a way of attracting evilness. Combating poverty and lack of education cheaper and more effective to the masses, but someone is apparently continuing to make money off warring.
