Howard Stern on Imus, Sharpton
http://www.tmz.com/2007/04/12/imus-to-satellite-radio-guess-again/

Sirius' biggest star, Howard Stern, simply detests Imus. Viz, Stern's on-air rant against him a spineless wimp: "If it was me and I did something stupid like that I would just go on and say, 'I'm not going on Al Sharpton's show. Al Sharpton is a piece of s**t. He's just a human being that is bankrupt, and he should pay his bills.... I would rather just leave the radio than apologize to that man...' I like Al Sharpton, by the way."

2. Can you please tell me -- what is the approximate audience size of Stern's Sirius program?

I have no idea how many people are (still) listening to him.

3. I'd say
Probably a million or two. Down from 10 million+.

4. Where are the actual figures? Or are you just guessing?
He has only 1/10th the audience he once had? Is that what you are suggesting?

5. Yes, but he makes 10 times the money on Sirius
and he gets to say anything he wants. Not a bad trade-off for a shock jock.

7. He's said alot, so it's hard to distill it down into this, but basically
he said that Imus had mishandled trying to recover from this, and should have just said, "look, I was making a joke, they pay me to make jokes, it was a dumb joke, I didn't mean to offend those young women" and moved on. And that going to known racist Sharpton, who mainly is trying to publicize his own radio show, was a mistake. Which it was.
