I thought I had no tears left after this weekend; but then, I watched Maria Shriver--Meet the Press
She paid such lovely tribute to her Uncle Teddy (and to her mother). She said Eunice used to make sure everyone was working on something ... "if you don't have an idea, what do you have?" she used to say. Eunice would ask Maria, "What's your idea?"

Words to live by.

She also talked about how important it was to tell Teddy -- while she still could -- just how important his love and care have been to her and her family. She thanked him for being a great uncle (and brother to her mom).

And I am bawling again. And, while I usually find David Gregory annoying, I came to the end of that interview and said aloud, "That was a great interview!" And then John Kerry came on and said that EXACT thing. David really did do a nice job. And I liked the people he had on. I could NOT watch Snufalupagus talk about Kennedy, as long as he had Evil Cheney Spawn on the panel.

2. I'm watching MTP now, and I agree. His interview with Maria was
great. And I liked the part with Kerry and with Dodd.

4. I wish more people would realize and appreciate the fact that
Maria is a very intelligent, well-spoken, interesting person in her own right. I know she's happy with Arnold, but she certainly gave up a lot to marry him, and all of us lost someone who could have been the next straight talking reporter in the mold of Walter Cronkite. I really admire her.

5. Kathleen K. Townsend, Doris Kearns Goodwin and Bob Shrum were wonderful.
And Gregory really let them talk about the MEANING of Teddy Kennedy. He didn't interrupt ... he was sensitive to their sorrow. One of the best MTP's I've seen since DG took over, actually (not that I watch it all that often ... for the sake of my blood pressure, I have to watch Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood instead!)
