2. Investigate now!
Have we forgotten that Mike Brown threatened to go public with his emails w/ Bush two years ago? And this prompted Gov. Blanco to ask for an investigation?

Well, we're in charge now--where's the investigation?

4. Good question.
Maybe it's just too much for them to believe... it's beyond shockingly horrible and shameful... it's downright evil.

5. Oh, I'm right there with you---I believe it was bungled to make government look bad, for starters.

Another reason is that bungling the response is easier than getting it right. I think this clearly fit into the Bushies' pattern of sabotage masquerading as incompetence.

Just think, if FEMA had done a good job, how could the right flog the public option now?

7. Tin foil hat and all, I believe it was more than mere incompetence.
Edited on Fri Aug-28-09 11:14 AM by BrklynLiberal
New Orleans was too black and too Democratic. The repukes wanted to remake New Orleans into a Disneyland version of its old self...white bread, mayonnaise and all. There was a lot of money to be made by speculators and builders if they could just get rid of all those poor people!!!

11. When Sean Penn beats the first responders to NO, it's time to ask questions.
Of course, we did not ask questions other than, "Damn, how much did of their $2000 FEMA check did that evacuee spend on a TV?"

9. Because we cherish our delusions,
We need to believe that we are free, that our "leaders" try to what's best for us, that things like this are not deliberate steps toward a goal.

I downloaded this film about an hour ago but haven't watched it yet.

Check out this DKos diary from today:

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/8/28/773519/-New-Orleans-Pumps-Unsafe-.-.-.-on-Katrina-Anniversary

The pumps that were installed after Katrina for a half a billion bucks in New Orleans...they were provided by a company called MWI, a former partner of Jeb Bush. From the link:

"MWI is owned by J. David Eller, once a business partner of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in a venture called Bush-El that marketed MWI pumps."

10. They made $.5 Billion on replacement pumps after Katrina
Edited on Fri Aug-28-09 11:41 AM by Subdivisions
that were nothing more than props in a huge scam. The pumps melted when put to the test.

12. I believe that Bushco did anything they
wanted to. That includes helping or in this case, not helping, NOLA. After all that has been revealed, I don't put anything past them.
