Senator Kennedy

How do we say goodbye when your life was so fruitful,
You really knew how to win them over by just being truthful.

If you could only worked another day, you could have got even more done,
Than the rest of us sitting here left crying in the sun.

How did you do it? Who can fill your shoes?
If you could have stayed an extra month, come on we have so much to lose.

But you have accomplished more than a million men didn't you?
So we should rejoice in your life instead of being blue.

The cause of your life, was healthcare reform,
now that your gone ,can legislation be born?

You knew your life could be lost just like your brothers'
Civil rights' was worth it though and even the nutrition of mothers.

You could not stand to see the injustice of senators' raising their salaries high
While increasing the minimum wage for the poorest would always get passed by.

You stayed true to who you are and true to your heart,
It showed when you met people right from the start.

If America had royalty, then you would have been the King,
You would have been saying all along "let freedom ring."

The final chapter of Camelot is done, this door is closed for good.
Have others learned enough from you? One can only hope they would.
