To Honor Ted Kennedy -- help get heathcare reform passed!

[Hell Hath No Fury]

I was listening this morning to a clip from Sen. Keendy's speech at the Denver Convention, and was reminded at just how central the issue of healthcare reform was to the Obama campaign, and to Sen. Kennedy's work in the last years of his life.

There would be no more fitting tribute to the man and all he accomplished for us than to get real healthcare reform passed.

I am asking you all to contact your own representatives, as well as the House Blue Dogs to demand they enact what the American people voted for in 2008.


Here is my letter I am faxing out today:

At the Democratic Convention of 2008, Senator Ted Kennedy gave the following remarks:

"And this is the cause of my life - new hope that we will break the old gridlock and guarantee that every American - north, south, east, west, young, old - will have decent, quality health care as a fundamental right and not a privilege. We can meet these challenges with Barack Obama. Yes, we can, and finally, yes, we will."

The American people responded to the call for access to healhtcare as a fundamental right from both Sen. Kennedy and candidate Barack Obama, and gave the Democratic Party the House, the Senate, and the Presidency to make that happen.

A recent SurveyUSA poll reported 77% of Americans believed that a public option was "extremely important" or "quite import" to true healthcare reform, including 71% of REPUBLICANS

The 2008 election and current public opinion clearly show that healthcare reform with a strong public option is the will of the American people.

What part of that do you not get?

I am calling on you to do the will of the People and honor Sen. Ted Kennedy by passing the meaningful healthcare reform that was his vision.
