Anyone gotten this health care email?

My RW brother sent it. Not sure if I am going to bother to respond but feel free to give it your best shots here.


Obama's health care plan will:
Be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it.
Be passed by a Congress that hasn't read it (but exempts themselves from it).
Be signed by a president who smokes (and also hasn't read it).
Have funding administered by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes.
Be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese.
Be financed by a country that is nearly broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

1. Thank you for supporting GW* for the 8 years it took to destroy the country

while making sure the rich got richer at the expense of the middle class. In other words STFU you republicon supporter and stay away from ballot boxes please.

Dear Brother:

As I recall, you wholeheartedly supported George W. Bush's invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Please let me know what return I can expect and when it might come from spending all those trillions of dollars, wasting all of those lives (military and civilian), and the squandering of our standing in the community of nations. Also, give me your best guess as to whether it's been worth all of this ongoing expense. At least with a health care plan, I can see some benefit inuring to me during my lifetime.

He has become a church goer so I inserted some religion into it. He is also a smoker. I was kind enough not to mention his kids would be too fat to be surgeon general too. He wrote back and asked if I was in menopause.



I too am disappointed in the healthcare bill. It is not enough. I want a healthcare system like France, which is the #1 system in the world and costs half of what we spend. Everybody there is covered, unlike the 47 million here who are not. Thousands die every week because they cannot get healthcare. How do we rationalize that? Jesus said to take care of our poor (which is a big percentage of this country - look at xx (his home county) but he never added the caveat - but don't do it through the government. He just said do it.

Interesting smoking by the president would be an issue for you. Did it not bother you that Laura Bush smoked like a stack in the white house?

So you cannot be an effective doctor if you are overweight? I don't think she looks that bad. She looks like a normal woman. What other jobs should be out of reach if you have too much weight?

The country is broke because we have been sacrificing our soldiers, and many innocent Iraqi citizens, to invade and occupy a country that had not attacked us. And year after year it sucked trillions of dollars. All through Bush's presidency the deficit mushroomed but nobody cared about it until Obama took office and suddenly it's a big issue.

Are you planning to take your National Guard retirement? Your Social Security? Your Medicare? All of those are very socialized, the government dole, as was the money (wife) took after her job was discontinued. Do you plan to get disability for (son)? If you truly believe the platform your party operates on, you should refuse to take any of those. Your party also fought against women getting the vote and civil rights and is always fighting against any kind of progress.

6. Yeah, I just got it

It's one of those that broad stroke emails that doesn't really address any specific issues. It's supposed to either rile up Democrats or rally the Repubes.

As Barney Frank says, it's like arguing with a dining room table. So I chose to delete it and move on.
