Ed Schultz Quote: "Death Panels - A Car Bomb In The WorkPlace Of Ideas".....
Edited on Thu Aug-20-09 04:42 PM by global1
I was listening to Ed Schultz's radio program in my car today and he called the Republicans 'intellectual terrorists'. Then he went on to say their use of lies like 'death panels' are car bombs thrown into the workplace of ideas.

I think I heard that right - if not - the paraphrase is very close.

Listening I just thought about how sophisticated that thought was and I stopped the car to write it down so I could post it here.

What a cool analogy.

I don't know if Ed has a Podcast of today's show posted on his website - but I believe the quote was sometime in the first half hour of his show.

Did anybody else catch that?

There are some VERY smart people burning the midnight oil to make these VERY SIMPLE and EASY TO UNDERSTAND LIES.

They're DESIGNED to explode like idea bombs, obliterating discussion and destroying rational thought. Because they KNOW there are people our there who WILL believe it with all their heart.

Sometimes, I really do worry about what might happen if another Dick Cheney ever came to power.

5. Big Ed is a national treasure. Expect to see an organized effort to discredit, defame, destroy
him in 3 . 2 . 1 .

7. That is cool. And the right is engaging in intellectual terrorism. That works
on so many levels. Including how the GOP try to get the freepers to vote against their own best interests for the duration of the life(suicide bombers).
