10. I've often wondered how much toob the tax-exempt Heritage Foundation underwrites.
My guess is that they bail out an enormous chunk of FAUX.

3. One word:
RATINGS.
Despite the advertisers pulling out of Beck, the same advertisers STILL give same amount of $ to FOX overall.
Therefore, FOX is not hurt at all by this. Beck gets publicity and ratings. Sick and sad, but true.

7. Some shows are just there for political purposes (on Fox)
They don't need to show a profit. They're doing what the GOP wants.

11. People do not understand how network-corpoprate advertising "works"
Network offers ads for $x per minute.
Company buys x# of minutes.
They may or may not specify which ads run where, but often their "agents" do "bulk deals", and the networks "place" the ads.

Boycotts "may" cause individual ad-buyers to get squeamish, and "pull their ads" from specific shows, BUT

and it's a BIG BUT

the network already HAS the money

they are obligated to show the ads remaining in the ad-buy, but they can alwasy just re-place them on other shows, and in their place from the "pulled show", they just run their OWN ads..for new shows..for specials..for their other family-of-channels.

Glennbeck is a HOT item for Fox.. THEY LOVE THIS SHIT..

Ole Rupert's laughing his ass off..all the way to the bank. he gets to keep the money AND piss off his political enemies.

Beck has a contract. He was hired to do exactly what he's doing. They knew what he was when they hired him.

NOW, if the advertisers start refusing to advertise on FOX, we can claim a small victory..but they would never do that.
