2. yep. Its a cartel, just like Adam Smith predicted.
"whenever two businessmen get together they conspire against the public". That's true in essentially every economic sector in capitalism, whether its oil company cartels, real estate realtors, auto companies, etc. Free enterprise competitive Capitalism is a pie in the sky theory that has nothing to do with the real world.

3. You're exactly right. There's a commercial running on the tube
that is hard to wrap your head around. It's being aired by a group of health insurance companies and says something like, "Support reform so the term pre-existing condition is never heard again." I'm paraphrasing. What a puzzler considering health insurance companies can stop discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions starting yesterday.
