finally war has been declared on those obstructing health care reform.

when you call your elected representatives today to encourage them to support the "public option" remind them that even rahm emanuel recognizes that the bipartisan approach to health care reform has failed and he has declared war on those who obstruct the process of addressing america's needs. and remind them that we attempted to solve this problem with compromise and diplomacy.
one expects both republicans and democrats in this country to legislate for the common good, as the oath they swore when they took office requires, so it is time that democrats took the lead in providing for the public welfare.
the "public option" was a compromise offered so that conservatives (corporate shills) could bargain in good faith for a different approach to paying for the health care of all americans. since the conservatives have not bargained in good faith this compromise should be rescinded.
we want a single payer model. it is the only way to address the problems associated with for profit health insurance.
every american needs to be covered for health care from the moment of birth until the moment they die. anything less is not good enough.

earlier, i posted this in response to a thread started by Seafan called, "That shattering, bone-crumbling sound all around is Critical Mass". it was suggested that it would make a good original post (my first original post though i have been reading DU since the year 2000. thank you for prodding me to do it).
