Ed Schultz: "Senator, I’m prepared to lose friends over this (healthcare)"
Edited on Wed Aug-19-09 09:00 AM by berni_mccoy
He said this to Senator Nelson.

We, all of us, should be prepared to lose friends over healthcare reform.

Ed mentioned it is a life or death situation. And it is.

More than 18 thousand Americans are dying each year because they can't afford healthcare. But no one cares because they are the poor and the sick. The Media hasn't covered the 18,000 dying each year as part of the reform debate. That's more than 3 times the number of people who died in 9/11. This is a crisis, and should be treated as such. I'm glad the debate is over and the Democrats are going at it alone since the Republicans have admitted that they've only been trying to block it. No more bipartisanship on this. We need to have reform now.

4. Indeed! He should have seen the eventuality of this and that he was on the wrong side.

2.  I've already lost friends that don't agree on this. They are not
friends anymore once I find out how selfish they are and it really started back in 2000. I'm experienced enough to know when there is no talking to some people. I'll care about them and be kind but they are no longer welcome in my personal space.

3. I love Ed, many had their doubts in the beginning when he first got his own show
but he actually cares about the issues he talks about.

5. Been listening to his radio show for a long time. He sees and speaks clearly what is going on.
There aren't many like him.

MSNBC has quite the line-up with Ed, Rachel and Keith.
