There isn't really any particular reason for this thread. I just thought we could use another one on this topic.

2. We don't need to worry about seeing guns outside political events.

We need to worry about the guy whose gun you CAN'T see. Or more likely, the guy who parks a truck bomb a block away.

4. Probably right, but intimidation does hurt the openess of political events. You get

enough of those people with guns and it could be a negative influence. I keep thinking about the IRA president who said some months ago "whoever has the guns wins". That's not a good way to conduct a democracy.
