I predict, that the success of the survival of those carrying revealed weapons, will usher in a host of heatpackin patriots. We will see hundreds at events. They will expand the program to force a hand to intervene with an ad hoc law, to function, as a society. This, will be the trigger, that tells all those ammo hording patriots, that Obama personally wants all their guns. This is their strategy, and of course, it could backfire PR wise. If we dont face these Liberal haters soon, in some fashion, they will propagate a militia, at our political functions, that will make brownshirts look like webellows. Face their guns early, or face them late. I want to face them right now. With loud opposition. And show how incredibly little, aside from killing someone they afford. I would like to unravel them with questions, and offer them no respite. Get really pointed, with questions they abhor. Dont back off. Show the punk retreating, or feebly trying to respond, or doing something really stupid. If we dont find a community standard solution to this armmed show of force soon, I feel we will have hundreds at every function. This is not paranoid, but a logical and natural progression. They will force our hand, to protect our citizenry. We are in for a hot time in the ole town soon.

4. The questions which they

"abhor" are always answered with the same tired old mantra: "It is my Constitutional right to carry a gun, and the government can not restrict that right. You are being un-American if you disagree with me."

One very vocal "carry" advocate on DU goes so far as to claim that carrying a gun is a God-given inalienable right that the government can not touch, and would exist without the Constitution. When asked about the "well-regulated militia" part of the 2nd Amendment, they claim that the SCOTUS has ruled that provision to mean "individual carry."

As long as carrying a gun in crowded public venues equates to "patriotism" in the closed-minds of these people, the rest of us (an overwhelming majority) will just have to suffer their arrogance I suppose. To a person, they all claim to be "responsible, law-abiding, proficient, well-trained, non-confrontational, weapons owners," and potential saviors of the the weak and unprotected among us: an unpaid and benign vigilante group, if you will.
