Healthcare reform without a public option is just another corporate giveaway.
If the pres and dems in congress cave on this, there is truly no hope that we will ever regain a country led by the people, if we ever truly had it. If the dems can't do this now, it will never be done. Why are they so afraid to use the mandate we gave them?

1. This is what happens when we elect a corporatist, instead of a Democrat.

3. Kucinich 2012 ? Is it too early to give up on Obama? I don't want to,
but this is so dis-heartening. Maybe the msm is pushing this rather than the WH? Maybe he will stand up for public option after all?

2. They are not afraid. They are doing exactly what their owners put them in office to do. Thinking
that {b]we gave them a mandate for anything is just naive.

We gave them votes, but the moneylenders (and it is lent, not give because the corporations get a great return on their campaign contributions) pull the strings.

Until those in power fear the consequences for their actions on behalf of the wealthy, they will continue to obey their orders. In the system as it is now set up, they have nothing to fear from "we the people."

5. Not naive as much as dissappointed. It was supposed to be different
this time. The people did speak, and if the pres and our reps don't answer the call now, they never will.

7. Exactly right
Look at the drug plan. What good is a drug plan that cover part of your drugs, can change what it covers after you make your annual selection, and charges you 50% of sn inflated BS price list, not half of what you could buy it for a Costco or if you shopped? It was a giveaway to big pharma.

8. Yep. It's mandatory subsidization of salary and profits.
What a SCAM.

11. The "public option" is just a corporate giveaway as well.
When will you all wake up and realize the "public option" was a scam from the get go? It's a win/win for the insurance companies and everyone in the health care industry, and was only created to appease all the babies crying out there for a "public option" without any regard for the specifics of the plan, or with actually solving what's WRONG with the health care and health insurance industry.
