Usain Bolt shatters the 100 meter mark, again
Usain Bolt has captured another world record, winning the 100-meter race in 9.58 seconds at the world championships.

Bolt shaved 0.11 seconds off the record he set at the Beijing Olympics, beating defending champion Tyson Gay on Sunday, who set a U.S. record of 9.71 seconds.

In the fastest 100 ever, Asafa Powell earned a bronze with a time of 9.84 in Berlin.

The race had been the most anticipated event of the world championships and lived up to its billing.

Bolt won the Olympic gold in Beijing last year with a world record performance of 9.69.

Top three finishers all under 9.85. Unreal.

2. A truly amazing run. Tyson Gay ran the 3rd fastest ever and was never a factor
Can Bolt go under 9.5?

4. That's one of the things I love about him.
He shows that he's holding back so you just have to wonder at how fast he would be if he didn't. It boggles the imagination.

5. He did look to see where Gay was twice, but no antics until after the tape.
Had he not looked, he may have knocked off a couple hundredths, but damn, that guy is fast.

8. If he blows away the record in Beijing with his best ever...
and never breaks it again. Then we all quit watching. If he only runs fast enough to set a new record each time he runs while looking like he could have run faster, then we will come back for more.

He is the best thing to happen to athletics in years. His theatrics have raised the interest level across the board and in turn raised the incomes of all the track and field athletes that normally only get a good payday ones every 4 years.

Don't have a problem with it, admire it. He is not a child running for pride in his school. He is a professional running for his paycheck and that depends on how many folks buy a ticket and tune in on the tele. He is a sprinter, "look ar me antics" run in the blood.
