I fucking HATE it when I'm right
A while ago, when discussing health care, I predicted there would be no public option, and "health care reform" would end up being a bunch of tax breaks for rich people.

People here said "No! That could never happen! We're in the majority!"

And I hoped that they would be right, and that I'd be proved wrong.

Unfortunately, I'm right. That sucks completely, dontchaknow...

27. So when the bill comes out
and the president's name is signed, will you finally care if there is no true public option and the pharma and insurance companies are the main beneficiaries?

Bet not.

12. Guess this doesn't mean anything.
"WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's administration signaled on Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run health insurance as part of his ambitious health care proposal.

Facing mounting opposition to the overhaul, administration officials left open the chance for a compromise with Republicans that would include health insurance cooperatives. Such a concession is likely to enrage his liberal supporters but could deliver Obama a much-needed win on a top domestic priority opposed by GOP lawmakers."

Wait a few days before panic. However do call your reps and Sens and tell them you want a public option.

4. You do realize, don't you,
that there is no "bill," that it has to go through committee and committee and House and Senate before it's a bill?

You do realize that, right?

And anything is possible during that journey?

You realize that, too, right?

So, you see that you're not right or wrong about anything, because there is no bill.........................

30. It's been posted thousands of times..
Obama supports a strong public option. Period.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/07/obama-overrides-aide-on-health-insurance-public-option/

“I am pleased by the progress we’re making on health care reform and still believe, as I’ve said before, that one of the best ways to bring down costs, provide more choices, and assure quality is a public option that will force the insurance companies to compete and keep them honest,’’ the statement said. “I look forward to a final product that achieves these very important goals.”

35. Let me remind you about Bill Clinton
I was fully aware during his presidency. He made many promises to the left that were flat out lies.

Yeah, I love Bill Clinton - from a Business standpoint. He was good for my 401k, not so good for the country.

And he would always make two promises: one to his base and one to his contributors. Which ones do you think he kept?

Obama is not Clinton, but I am seeing a similar pattern emerge.

Pardon me, but the adage goes "Once bitten, twice shy"
