Breast-feeding moms stage 'nurse-in' at Orlando area Chick-fil-A
FWIW: I usually go through this Chick-fil-A drivethrough for breakfast on my way to work. Their food is good but they do a lot of right wing religious promotions. I thought this was a pretty hilarious story...

Breast-feeding moms stage 'nurse-in' at Winter Park Chick-fil-A

WINTER PARK - A group of women staged a "nurse-in" at a Winter Park Chick-Fil-A on Friday after a breast-feeding mom earlier in the week was asked to cover up by the restaurant manager.

The gathering was more outing than protest. About 30 parents – mostly moms, some nestling babies close to them in wraps – filled about half the restaurant, chatting and eating lunch. Those who nursed did so discreetly.

Manager Virginia Piter, who on Tuesday suggested Chylain Krivensky cover herself, worked her way through the crowd accompanied by a costumed cow character.

"Everyone makes mistakes, and I made a doozy, and I'm sorry that I did," Piter said.

5. I know...
on the other hand they don't make their employees work till all hours and seem to treat them well for a fast food place and the food is relatively healthy and the place is relatively clean for a fast food place.

Those fundies gotta make a living too... I'd rather it was selling chicken sandwiches than most other things I can think of.

15. Um, talk to one of my sisters about that.
She worked doing advertising and marketing promotions for them. She soon found herself in a rental kiosk in a mall on Saturdays, selling their food like any minimum-wage kid behind a counter.

chick-fil-a IS fundie owned. my first clue was that they are closed on sundays. by personal preference, i do not support them. just as i have not bought a domino's pizza for 20 years because the owner is a catholic fundie who funds anti-abortion activists/terrorists. same with coors and amway.

3. Wasn't this the subject of an episode of Married With Children?
The baby of a customer in Al's shoe store starts crying, and she says, "He's hungry--mind if I feed him?" Al says okay, fulling expecting her to pull out a bottle. But she pulls out something else, resulting in March leading a "nurse-in" at the store!

4. People Need to Get Over It
If businesses don't want women breast feeding in public, they need to provide an alternative - a secluded area with comfortable seating. I really don't want to see a complete stranger breast feeding her baby, but I understand it. To me, it is disgusting to think of feeding a baby on a toilet. I would respect that woman's privacy by not staring.

As for Chick-Fil-A, I go there even though they are fundie owned because at least they are consistent. They sacrifice a good bit of their business being closed on Sundays. I also think they treat their employees better than most fast food restaurants.

12. Mall in Gainesville, FL has a nice 'personal needs' area. The
foyer area has comfortable seating, there are the separate men's/women's restrooms, a unisex/family restroom, a diaper changing area, and a separate room for breast feeding - all plainly marked.

6. It's a restaurant. People go there to eat. Babies are people. Feed'em when they are hungry.
This country is so messed up sexually. Breast feeding shouldn't be a big deal anywhere. That's the purpose of the breast in the first place, to supply nourishment to babies. It's better for babies than formula anyway.

8. People are acting like we are in a depression..
During the "Great Depression", we had a flurry of wing-walkers, pole sitters, high wire walkers.. every newsreel of the day sported some "unusual" stunt (kind of like what Keith O. does daily, on Countdown)..

and now we have women who flash mob Chik-Fil-A ...with a real "flash"..

Times are tough, money's short, news is bad...Release the stunts !!
