So, how many of us have jumped on to your local message boards to
defend the Public option or some form of govt sponsored universal health care? I don't waste my time arguing with idiots, but I noticed that one poster had a family member that went bankrupt over hc costs, and finally died for lack of timely access. Since then, I've gotten on the board to correct the lies and defend a more socialist position in healthcare. He wrote me a thank you note on the board wall the other day.

I think I should keep chipping away at it. I'm not trying to change the minds of the entrenched, but if there are others visiting the message board, I want them to see, that 1) liberals will fight for their positions; 2) that healthcare is important enough to fight for; and 3) I hope I might persuade those that aren't certain of where they stand.

5. These are mixed forums. I won't venture onto conservative boards
because they are a waste of time and energy.

8. Ilsa is right the MSM sites are read by moderates, the wingnuts are but our foil....
they are ill informed & have poor written communication skills, so they put the GOP in a less than flattering light.

4. LTTE and a lot of food for thought offered up in any conversation on the topic
We are making a contest of who can bring the most indisputable facts to wingers when they try to parrot talking posts. My little band of merry men is a fun group of die hard truth speakers. ;)

roughly where you are, but my memory sometimes fails me. Glad you have some assistance in nailing down the facts versus the fear tactics in a public way.

9. PM me for all the info on helping out in SW Ohio, LTE writers PM me also...
This SW OH MSM site is publishing all LTEs online, I can funnel your LTE to a local DUer who is not afraid to have his name and location published, for fear of death threats.

You can submit an LTE for SW Ohio here

11. Newspapers that use Pluck for comments have the best system, for influencing the debate....
This is an example of Pluck pulling just LTEs tagged with healthcare in the SW Ohio media market

14. Pluck
You will also find far right Pluck forums in the Tallahasee Democrat (sic) and the Houston Chronicle. Both are overrun with far right haters of the truth.

15. Pluck simply enables, we have to recruit & encourage progressives to participate...l
The dittoheads certainly try to overrun the comments section on the Cincinnati Enquirer, but it often backfires.

Fact Check articles on political ads are usually buried, by slamming Obama on a Kidergarten Sex Ed fact check article the dittoheads put that article in the navigation of every page.

When Colin Powell endorsed Obama I got on DU at 7:30 AM & asked for recommends. Within a half hour that article was in thye navigation of every article page.

I recruit writers incessantly. Join me in SW Ohio, PM me to join my group.

17. ''we have to recruit & encourage progressives to participate''
Good luck with that. Every time I tried to recruit people here to participate in the now defunct Real Cities forums all the DU libs chickened out and ran away like the cowards they often are.

Just now I listened to the Big Ed Schultz program and was amazed to hear that he has gotten dozens of letters from people who expressed the same frustration I have done: they, along with the majority, voted for Obama so that we can have health care reform and other changes. Now that the chance to have it was near, the rest of the Democratic party has turned coward and refuse to fight for it. Because of this frustration, people have told Mr Schultz that they will quit politics and not bother to vote again if the promised changes are not made.

The only way to bring change is to fight for it. Voting is simply not enough. Just as I post on right wing forums every day, people here need to stop hiding on a site like this one. They need to get off their butts and fight on all Pluck forums and other right wing forums.

If we lose this fight, then I along with those who wrote to Mr Schultz, am finished with fighting alone against the paid right wing and will not vote Democrat again.

12. I kick some republiclown ass frequently here...
http://mortgagegrapevine.com/

It's a mortgage industry website and you must register, but it's well worth the effort if you wish to plumb the depths of ignorance.
There are few voices of reason there but plenty of birhters, deathers, global warming denial folks, etc.

Please take some time and slide over there to shine light on their ignorance.
They're so ill informed that you should have most of them sputtering nonsense after 2-3 posts.
Good times indeed!

16. That is great but from a straegic standpoint you might want to choose a
particular media market in a particular congressional district, or a swing state.

18. I have been banned from the largest local message board so many times I long since gave up counting.
Anyone who tries to argue with the overwhelming freeper type presence gets a granite pizza.

I've managed to get tombstoned in a single post several times.

Par for the course living in a red portion of one of the reddest states.
