The Audacity To Get Sick
My mom had the audacity to get breast cancer. - She survived and is doing great, this was almost 20 years ago.

My grandfather had the audacity to have a stroke or two and my grandparents had to give up their life savings, house and other belongings so he could live in a longterm care facility.

I used to visit the local children's hospital, as a clown, where I saw many, many kids who had the audacity to get horribly debilitating diseases.

Everyday, people on this site and all around the U.S. have the audacity to require medical care.

Except republicans, they have the audacity of being selfish, heartless and hateful.

Many of them have the audacity of using a health care plan, that I help pay for, while saying they don't want me to have health care.

It's okay though, I have the audacity of predicting that we will win this fight.

1. That's the way of life now in America
Work hard all your life to maybe pass on a little something to your loved ones. Instead you need to give it to a long term health facility (nursing home) some with below acceptable staff and facilites.

Here's a little story:

My Mom was in a nursing home the last 2 years of her life. After 4 years of caring for home at home, she needed 24/7 care and I was drained. I was with her in the dining room one day just the two of us talking when I noticed some papers on a table. Nosey as I am, I picked them up and begain reading. It was patient list, room number, amount of SS, Pension, etc. each patient recieved per month. The incomes ranged from around 500 - 1700. Yet, EVERYONE ate the same meals, all the rooms were exactly the same. Paying more didn't get them better accomodations. And as you stated some have had to sell everything in order to get into the LTCF.

If you want to protect your assests, you need to do I belive it's 2 years prior to need.
