GRASSLEY Brings GLEN BECK'S BOOK To Town Hall Meeting to ' PASS IT ON.'
Source: Think Progress

WTF! Obama needs to kick this tinhorn repuke to the curb period!

Grassley brings Glenn Beck’s book to town hall meeting to ‘pass it on.’

EDITOR’S NOTE: Over the coming month, ThinkProgress will be traveling to town hall events across the country to report on what we’re seeing on the ground. This is our fourth eyewitness report.

On Wednesday, during Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) town hall in Winterset, Iowa, an attendee proudly noted that the Senator brought his personal copy of Glenn Beck’s book “Common Sense.” Grassley responded stating that he has read the book and that he intended to “pass it on”:

TOWN HALL ATTENDEE: I noticed that you have the book “Common Sense” with you today, I hope you share it with a lot more of those 535 people.

GRASSLEY: Well the reason I brought it is you’re supposed to pass it on to other people when you’re not reading it.

At the end of the town hall, Grassley gave an autographed copy of “Common Sense” to ThinkProgress and said “it’s something you gotta read a couple times.”

1. By "pass it on"
Is he referring to eating it then defecating it out?

5. LOL. Grassley asked if ' Common Sense ' was available in ' tape ' form ( I think he meant 8 track)
so he can pop it in his vehicle and listen to it while driving.

12. That's great....A crazy old man encourages a book written by a fat pig who
Edited on Sat Aug-15-09 12:44 PM by Hawaii Hiker
encourages political violence - fucking wonderful...

If I lived in Iowa, I would move out today...Between that insane rep. Steve King, & Senator Assley, I'd rather be stranded on a South Pacific island by myself (like Tom Hanks in "Castaway"), than live in a state w/that kind of leadership representing it, :banghead: :banghead:

8. it's past time to cut them out, republicans are the ones that slaughtered bi-partisanship...
and they are proud of it! Go-head and ask them. They have no interest in participating in any process including their own judging by the way they fuck shit up. Unless of course it is war (which they initiate without any plan or clue whatsoever causing innocent death) or shifting all wealth elsewhere (which is the only thing they really care about). It's time to cut them out and it's time to start with Grassley

9. While Iowans can be conservative, they tend to be somewhat intelligent
in their conservatism. What the hell is with Grassley? Why do they love him?

10. I wish people in this country could read 20,000 words a minute.

It's not totally bad that people read Glen Beck's book, it's just that it's probably the only book most every one of them will read for the whole year. It is easy to be mis-informed and duped when you can't take in that much information, or that you're not experienced with enough reading to detect bullshit, or that reading is such an ordeal for a person that they will agree with what they read just because of the effort they had to put forward.

We're in an information age, and ironically, the slowest part of the process right now is the human mind itself.
