I Propose That Our Congress Pass A Law To Restrict Carrying Guns At Presidential Events
Was there any law that prevented this guy from having a ticket and a seat inside the hall? If it is perfectly legal to have a firearm within proximity of the President exactly how far or close can one be?

I would greatly appreciate some of the defenders of this guy to offer what they believe are reasonable security precautions for the life of the President in these situations. Is it 100 ft.? 200ft? Inside the hall? Outside the hall?

Personally, I would advocate strongly that there be some law that restricts the carrying of weapons by private individuals at events attended by the Prez if there are not some already on the books. To be a Secret Service agent at these events must be grueling beyond belief. My hat's off to all of them and Godspeed!

2. Well, excluding law enforcement.
Of course outside, concealed carry weapons might be hard to prevent. But the law might discourage some; and it would allow prosecution when someone was found to bring the weapon to a POTUS event.

3. They still haven't even renewed the assault weapons ban.
The NRA makes them pee their pants.

4. Perhaps...
and maybe it's just that some members of Congress have a genuine personal belief in the 2nd amendment?

5. Then they are misguided and need to act more responsibly for the good of society.
