Focus on the Family has 'serious' budget shortfall

DENVER — Conservative Christian group Focus on the Family says it is facing a "serious budget shortfall."

Jim Daly, president and CEO of the Colorado Springs, Colo.-based evangelical ministry, explains in a letter to approximately 800,000 donors that projected income for the year is $6 million short of expectations.

The organization's fiscal year budget is $138 million.

Focus on the Family also says it will no longer stage "Love Won Out" conferences, which promise to "help men and women dissatisfied with living homosexually understand that same-sex attractions can be overcome."
