Poll question: Did Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) do enough to squelch disruptors at her 8/11 townhall?
Saw some of the footage, and it looks like she was caught unprepared and off-guard. But what do you think?

1. Maybe it's just because I don't pay much attention to her...
...but she sure seems to be one of those ones that are always against the Democratic agenda. And she was one of the ones sticking up for the protestors. And she goes to her townhall, tries to be nice, and they trample all over her. Where does that get her? Why don't Democrats understand that these type of people are not going to support them, no matter what they do? Democrats could cut taxes to 0%, and the crazy Republicans would still hate them.

Is McCaskill one of those "bluedogs?" She seems to be the type of one-termer that tries to play the middle, without realizing she is pissing off her Democratic supporters without winning any Republican support. That's a recipe for election disaster. Why don't Democrats realize this?

2. I'm inclined to agree with you
I wish today's Republicans were cut from the same cloth as Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower. Then we could honestly talk about bipartisanship. But those days, I fear, are gone forever.

4. She's my senator and full of inconsistencies............
She voted for granting immunity to the t-comms for the warrantless wiretapping, among other things.

But she says she is supporting the President in his efforts to reform healthcare.

5. I thought she was very effective
She came across as fair-minded and reasonable, while the hecklers came across as obnoxious. Who are the hecklers appealing to other than their own peers?
