7. I recall posting a couple of years ago that if you had to vote for a Republican

then you could do a lot worse than vote for Arlen. I have seen him dead wrong on some matters, and he infuriated me when he ran the Judiciary Committee, but overall I don't think he is a dishonerable man and I do not think he is a bought-off habitual liar. That's better than I can say for several Senators.

Snarlin' Arlen was pro-choice at least a couple of decades ago.

Now he has had cancer and was cured with stem cell research, so he's in favor of that.

Yet another Republican who gets a horrible disease and decides that stemcell resesarch is a good thing because it's a matter of HIS life or death -- like Nancy Reagan wanting research into stem cells to help Alzheimer's for Ronnie.

I can hope that he'll turn into a real Democrat some day.
