As an armed gay man I will tell you that if you f with me I will. As I have said before here on this site I have been mugged, I have been assaulted for being perceived as gay, I look like a redneck (sweet and sensitive though). I have stepped in when I saw an ugly situation developing some times I got my ass beat, some times I did not. I was there when an former dahling of the far religious Reich tried to organize a lynch mob (if organized is the correct term)

I do not say go out and get a gun. I will say learn to protect yourself, unarmed combat lessons come as a surprise to most folks who want to victimize someone whom they perceive as weak.
If you get a gun, take the lessons, learn what your rights and responsibilities are. Learn gun safety, if you have others that live with you, take them to the range too, make sure they learn gun safety. Don't buy the biggest piece you can find /afford find someone that can help you. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the only stupid question is the unasked one.

I took a few of years of Tae Kwan Do. Now I am far out of practice and would be more likely to hurt myself. I kept up the exercises and practiced the moves for years afer.
When I was doing the classes I had confidence and balance (I'm quite clumsy). I would take them again if I could find classes that would take an HIV patient and would be patient with me, and if I could afford it.
Not to mention it keeps you in shape and it is a great stress reliever.
At the moment I am in a shape..it's a shape though pear is not a desired shape in a man...

Yea I know it was about the nutcase with the open carry gun. I had to interject some sane ideas and some silly ones. I tend to think this guy 'ain't raht'. I saw him on Dave Matthews a bit ago, my radar says this fella should not be armed, I may be quite wrong.
