Obama's game of chicken revisited
If President Bush vetoes an Iraq war spending bill as promised, Congress quickly will provide the money without the withdrawal timeline the White House objects to because no lawmaker "wants to play chicken with our troops," Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday.

OK, let's use your analogy for a moment, Senator, and assume the funding bill is a game of chicken.

If Bush blinks, the troops come home and stop dying. If Congress blinks the troops keep dying.

You just said you will blink.

Now why would you do that?

Because at heart, you will not play chicken with your campaign prospects. Being president means more to you than being moral. You are prepared to sacrifice other people's lives so you can have a shot at being president.

Is that a harsh assessment? Yes. And my ass isn't even getting shot at in Iraq.

NONE of these Dems are going to risk their political careers on something as RADICAL as "lets stop sending our troops to the slaughter"

Man o man. What a sorry state of affairs.

2. Bullshit. Chimpy won't blink, the troops will get funded, the Dems
will chip away until Republicans in Congress feel enough heat, and that is how the war will start to end. Yeah, all the troops will soon be out of Iraq--get real! Nobody who isn't delusional in Congress believes that. Defunding is a third rail that I don't want the Dems to grab hold of, for many, many reasons.

5. Huh?
So you prefer the soldiers remain in Iraq, dying, so we can score political points?

it is proved otherwise. He should have kept his mouth shut.
I hope he will be proven wrong. The war is destroying this country, to say nothing of Iraq.
